Editorial: Homeless shelter should get conditional OK
The Athens-Clarke County Planning Commission's recommendation that a special-use permit be issued to allow operation of a homeless shelter at the corner of North Avenue and Willow Street in the eastern edge of downtown Athens got some real, albeit indirect, support from the head of the Athens-Clarke police department's criminal investigations division last week.
